Chapelstone's "Thirsty Bed" horse bedding
Having used wood pellet type bedding for several years for our own horses we decided to produce our own bedding.
Many of these wood pellet type bedding products are imported from Canada, we decided there must be a way to reduce the carbon footprint of this type of bedding by sourcing a similar product from our own country. We also wanted a good supply chain and if possible to produce a quality bedding which is better value for money but still a quality product.
Well we think we've cracked it with our all NEW "Thirsty Bed".
It comes in larger but still manageable 15kg bags not 13.6kg as with many that are imported, is sourced from sustainable forests within the UK and is very cost effective, with great savings when bought by the pallet load of 67 bags which includes free delivery to most of mainland uk.
Our pallets come with a convenient clear plastic cover which means you can store Thirsty Bed outside saving on storage space and with the cover being clear you can quickly see how many bags you have left.
Thirsty Bed incorporates environmentally friendly pine wood fibres mainly sourced in the UK which undergo the latest moisture and dust extraction process, prior to being made into a pellet. The extreme heat produced when pellet's are formed burns off most natural resins,oils, tars and water within the fibres leaving a pellet that is completely dry (less 4% moisture) and sterile.

Due to Thirsty Bed’s superior absorbency, urine is totally absorbed and held in a small area, stopping major wet patches from spreading over the rest of the stable; thus helping your horse to stay as dry and comfortable as possible.
